NAFL Commish announces some plans for 09

January 11, 2009

An Address from the Commissioner of the NAFL

Teams, Players and Fans!

The 2009 season doesn’t start until July 11, 2009, but this doesn’t mean there is nothing to do until then.  Since returning from the championship weekend in Atlanta, I have been busy working on improving communication with the teams to make sure that this year is even better than before!  One of the first tasks I tackled with this goal in mind is appointing Conference Commissioners for each of the four NAFL conferences.  This is a way to make sure information is disseminated to all, and the teams all feel they have someone other than me they can communicate to in the event they cannot reach me.  These individuals are in place to assist me in communicating to all of you and making sure that you get an answer to your questions faster than ever.  I still want team owners, coaches and players to feel they can contact me, and I will respond as I have in the past, but this gives all of you another means to get someone to hear and recognize when there is an issue.

The 2009 NAFL Conference Commissioners are as follows:

Eastern Conference - Ron Kerr
Southern Conference - Bill Caldwell
Western Conference - Lorrie Rarey (back by popular demand)
Northern Conference - Jordan Taylor

In case you are not familiar with these people, Ron is the owner of the Central Penn Piranha; Lorrie is the owner of the King County (WA) Jaquars; Bill is the owner of the Nashville Storm; and Jordan is the owner of the Dakota Lawdawgs.  There have also been regional and divisional directors placed, and they too will be part of “Team Code Four”.  Code four is a term used by law enforcement meaning everything is good and all is well.  This is what we all want to see happen in 2009 and that is all teams are “code four”.  Next week I will post regarding the regional people so you all know who they are.  Following that, I will introduce the divisional directors.

Watch for future announcements on the 2009 season and championship weekend, because the goals this year are better communication, a great 2009 season and a bigger and better championship weekend than ever before!!
